Strongest Possible Manchester United Lineup vs Swansea City (Image) – Should Herrera start?

Following a couple of toothless displays, Manchester United finally displayed their ruthlessness in front of goal by managing a 4-0 victory over Club Brugge away from home in the second leg of the Champions League playoffs.

United will be looking to take their fine form in Europe into the Premier League as well and the fans will now finally be expectant of a good performance from the Red Devils domestically.

However, it will be easier said than done this weekend as the Red Devils face a tough task of squaring off against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Here is the Probable Strongest Possible Lineup for Manchester United against Swansea City –

Goalkeeper

Sergio Romero has been a revelation for United so far this season and the Argentine international managed his fourth clean sheet in five games with another good performance against Club Brugge on Wednesday night.

That said, Swansea City will surely prove to be a completely different proposition and Romero will have to be on his best in order to be able to claim another clean sheet.

Defence

Much has been made about United’s need to sign a new centre back this summer but the combination of Daley Blind and Chris Smalling have proven themselves be more than capable so far.

With the duo performing so well, they will start once again at the heart of the defence and Swansea will surely provide them with a tough test.

In the full back positions, Matteo Darmian and Luke Shaw have been very impressive as well and the quartet are gradually forming a top quality backline which looks solid enough to thwart the dangerous Swansea attack.

Midfield

Ander Herrera was handed a rare start against Club Brugge and the Spaniard took the opportunity with both hands by putting in a fantastic performance.

As a result, Herrera could be awarded with a start against Swansea as well alongside Michael Carrick while the duo of Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger could miss out.

In attack, the trio of Juan Mata, Adnan Januzaj and Memphis Depay have been very impressive and van Gaal will surely see no reason to change things around, even if the likes of Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia are available for selection.

Attack

Wayne Rooney hit back at his critics by scoring a marvelous hat-trick in Brugge and the performance reminded everyone why one should not write off the United and England captain.

Rooney will be leading the line for United once again against Swansea, while the duo of Marouane Fellaini and Javier Hernandez will provide alternatives for van Gaal to choose from as the game progresses.
