Manchester United are hopeful of selling Jonny Evans for a fee of around £12million before the end of the transfer window, according to reports from the Express
Jonny Evans was considered as one of the brightest young defenders in English football when he made his debut for Manchester United back in 2007 but unfortunately, the Northern Irishman has not been able to fulfill the hype that surrounded him earlier on in his career.
Following the arrival of Louis van Gaal as manager of the club, Evans has fallen down the pecking order at United and the defender has not yet made a single appearance for the Red Devils during the current campaign.
Asking price for Evans revealed
As a result, Evans has been widely tipped to leave Old Trafford this summer and West Bromwich Albion has been seen as a realistic destination for the 27-year old.
While United are keen on offloading Evans, it has now been claimed by the Daily Express that the Red Devils will not allow the defender to leave on the cheap and that the club have set an asking price of around £12million for their youth product.
Such a large asking price is surely set to deter interested clubs and it will now be interesting to see whether the Red Devils will be able to sell the defender this summer.
