Manchester United are demanding the services of wonderkid Borja Mayoral in exchange for David De Gea, according to reports from ESPN
David De Gea being linked with a move to Real Madrid has proven to be a soap opera all summer long and despite incessant reports, the goalkeeper has still not joined the Spanish giants.
Manchester United and Madrid are haggling over the fee for De Gea but manager Louis van Gaal has made it clear that the wantaway goalkeeper is not part of his plans at the club after leaving him out for the Red Devils’ first three games of the season.
With only a week left to go before the end of the transfer window, it is believed that United will come to a compromise with Madrid over the fee for De Gea.
United want Mayoral in exchange for De Gea
While it remains clear that Madrid are not willing to match United’s £35million asking price for De Gea, United are looking at other ways to facilitate the deal and now according to reports from ESPN, the Red Devils will be demanding the services of Raul Mayoral in a part exchange deal for the goalkeeper.
The reports claim that United will settle for a lower fee in the region of around £20-25million for De Gea if Madrid allow Mayoral to move the other way as part of the deal.
Mayoral is a talented young striker who has been creating waves at youth level for both Real Madrid as well as the Spanish national team and the 18-year old has even been dubbed the ‘new Raul’.
United are said to have been monitoring Mayoral for quite a while now and the Red Devils would be happy to sign the young striker even if they lose De Gea.
