Real Madrid are finally ready to meet Manchester United’s asking price of David De Gea which is around €40million, according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial
David De Gea has been incessantly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer but the transfer has surprisingly not come into fruition as of yet.
Despite a tiring protracted round of negotiations, Madrid and Manchester United have been haggling over the price for De Gea and given the fact that the Premier League campaign has already gotten underway, it has been suspected that the 24-year old could well end up staying put at Old Trafford this summer.
De Gea finally set for Real Madrid move
However, manager Louis van Gaal recently cast a huge doubt on De Gea’s future at the club after leaving out the goalkeeper from the Manchester United squad which squared off against Tottenham Hotspur during the opening game of the Premier League campaign on Saturday.
It has been made clear that unless De Gea’s future is sorted out, van Gaal is unlikely to use him this season and now the onus is on Real Madrid to match United’s valuation of the goalkeeper.
Now according to reports from Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, it has been claimed that Madrid are looking to ramp up their pursuit for De Gea and have agreed to pay €40million for the 24-year old.
If indeed the aforementioned deal for De Gea does come into fruition, he will become the world’s most expensive goalkeeper beating the long standing record held by Gianluigi Buffon.
