Premier League giants Manchester United are planning to make a swoop for Lucas Silva, according to reports from the Metro
Manchester United got off their Premier League campaign in a positive fashion by claiming a 1-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur but the Red Devils were not entirely convincing throughout the match.
The performance was an indication that United are still short on numbers in a few areas of the pitch and manager Louis van Gaal is expected to bring in at least a couple of names to Old Trafford before the end of the summer transfer window.
United planning a swoop for Lucas Silva
It is widely believed that United are looking to reinforce their strike force by signing Barcelona star Pedro Rodriguez but now according to reports from the Metro, the Dutchman is eyeing a surprise swoop for Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Silva as well.
Silva only joined Madrid during the January transfer window last season but has struggled for regular first team football at the Santiago Bernabeu and with the Spanish club having to let go of one non-EU player from their squad, the Brazilian international has reportedly been made available.
As a result, a couple of clubs have expressed their interest in signing Silva and now according to reports from the Metro, even Manchester United have entered the race for the 22-year old.
Despite bringing in a host of new midfielders this summer, van Gaal is seemingly intent on further strengthening his midfield area and potentially signing Silva for the reported £10million represents a good deal.
