Over the last few weeks, it has been revealed that Manchester United are seriously pursuing Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos and the Red Devils are ready to break the bank in order to land the services of the defender.
Reports have claimed that United had placed an initial offer of around £32million for the 29-year old and after having the bid rejected, the Red Devils have tabled an improved bid amounting to a whopping £42.5million.
Ramos being courted by Manchester United
Ideally Real Madrid are keen on keeping hold of Ramos but given the fact that the defender is unhappy at the club allied by United’s whopping offer, Los Blancos are said to be considering cashing in on their star man this summer.
Now to hand a further boost to United, Real Madrid are seemingly already planning for life after Ramos by ramping up their pursuit for a replacement in the form of Shkodran Mustafi.
Mustafi impressed last season with Valencia and as a result, Real Madrid were said to be hot on the trail of the defender.
Mustafi contacted by Madrid
Now Mustafi’s father, Kujtim, has moved on to confirm that Madrid have established contact regarding his son’s availability and hinted that a move could be on the cards.
Speaking to Sport1, Kujtim Mustafi said, “It is true, there was contact by telephone about this matter.
“Madrid are a great club with a lot of success. And of course I would be lying if I said that I would not be proud if my son signed for this club.”
