Not a Done Deal? Arsenal yet to secure star signing

Long time Chelsea keeper may be on his way out of the club he has served for so long in search of first team football. Cech has requested a move away from Chelsea but a stay in London, a request that has brought Arsenal into the driver’s seat of consideration.

Some speculation indicated an 11 million euro fee had been agreed upon by the two clubs, but Cech was quick to quell premature reports by retweeting a message from his management company clarifying that nothing was final yet.

John Terry weighed in on the potential move claiming that Cech would save his club “12-15 points” which is something that would have seen Arsenal at least level on points with Chelsea at the end of the season.

Arsenal has been plagued by inconsistent goalkeeping play in recent years, and the arrival of a proven veteran in Cech could be the piece Arsenal has been needing to spur them to seriously challenge for the title.

From the current state of affairs, it seems a Cech move to Arsenal imminent. It is more likely than not that Cech moves to Arsenal for 10-15 million euros.

At Arsenal he would be the first team keeper and able to keep his family in London, fulfilling both of his transfer wishes. However, nothing can be considered a sure bet in the world of football until the deal is done.
