Star Marouane Fellaini reveals that Manchester United did everything in their power in order to sign up youngster Andreas Pereira to a new deal
While no one can dare question the phenomenal job Sir Alex Ferguson had conducted at Manchester United during his glorious two decade long tenure at the club, one can state that allowing Paul Pogba to slip through his fingers was a huge aberration.
After being frustrated with lack of first team football coming his way, Pogba left United for Juventus on a free transfer three seasons ago and has since flourished into one of the best midfielders in the world – now reportedly valued at around £60million.
As a result of the Pogba saga, Manchester United learned a valuable lesson of tying down their bright prospects early on and they most certainly were not going to make the same mistake once again with another young talent Andreas Pereira.
Pereira a big talent says Fellaini
With Pereira entering the final year of his contract last season, United moved quickly to tie the young Brazilian to a new long term deal and there are high hopes that the young man will become a star for the Red Devils in the future.
Now Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini has moved on to state that big things are expected of Pereira at the club and revealed that the Old Trafford hierarchy did everything within their power to keep hold of the young man.
Speaking to United Review, Fellaini said, “Andreas is a big talent. I think the club did everything to sign him up to a contract because a lot of teams wanted him. He has to continue like that, to work hard and to keep going and try to win his place.”
