Forget Paul Pogba and Morgan Schneiderlin: Manchester United plan £11million alternative

Old Trafford

Manchester United will be able to sign Radja Nainggolan for just £10.9million according to reports

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is surely set to reinvest in his squad during the upcoming transfer window and as it has been the case for the Red Devils over the past few seasons, signing a new midfielder will have to be high on the Dutchman’s agenda.

With van Gaal set to be awarded a reported £150million transfer war chest once again, names such as Paul Pogba and Morgan Schneiderlin have been linked with big money moves to Old Trafford in order to solve the midfield predicament.

Nainggolan available on the cheap

Despite the seemingly unlimited amount of financial resources though, van Gaal is said to be considering cheaper alternatives as well and according to reports from the Metro, the 64-year old is planning a swoop for Roma star Radja Nainggolan.

Nainggolan has been linked with a £25million move to United in the past but it has been claimed that the midfielder could be available for a knock down price of around only £10.9million.

Nainggolan enjoyed another fruitful campaign with Roma last season and it is unclear as to why his market value has decreased so considerably.

Nonetheless, Nainggolan could well prove to be a very good purchase for United at the stated price and it would allow the Red Devils to allocate their large transfer budget on other areas of the squad.
