Chelsea emerge as shock favourites to sign £45million sensation

Liverpool star Raheem Sterling is open to a move to Chelsea – according to reports from the Daily Mail

Despite being offered a mammoth £90,000-per-week contract, Raheem Sterling has made it clear that he is not keen on extending his stay at Liverpool.

Sterling’s stance has shocked Liverpool but on the other hand, there has been an increased level of interest in the winger from a host of top clubs around Europe.

The likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City and Arsenal are just some of the names who have expressed their interest in signing Sterling and it will be interesting to see where the 20-year old will end up this summer.

Sterling could be set for shock Chelsea move

In an interesting development to Sterling saga, it has now emerged that the England international making a move to Premier League champions Chelsea also remains a distinct possibility.

According to the Daily Mail, Sterling is eyeing a move back to North London where he grew up and while Arsenal is his preferred choice, the winger is open to the idea of joining Chelsea as well.

Given the animosity that Chelsea and Liverpool have shared in recent times, the Reds will surely be averse to selling their prized asset to one of their biggest rivals in the Premier League.

However, with Sterling hell bent on a move away from Anfield and Chelsea one of the few teams in the world who possess the financial power to be able to meet the winger’s asking price of around £45million, the unlikely move coming into fruition remains a possibility.
