Manchester United will be signing Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan this summer – according to reports emerging out of Germany
Gundogan has repeatedly been linked with a move to Manchester United during the past few seasons and it finally looks like the Red Devils will be able to land the services of their long time target due to various favourable reasons.
Gundogan has not shown any indication that he will be extending his contract at Signal Iduna Park which expires at the end of next season and the departure of long time manager Jurgen Klopp has meant that the German midfielder is also believed to be eyeing a move away from Dortmund this summer.
Gundogan on his way to Manchester United
With Gundogan all but certain to exit Dortmund, it has been no surprise to see a host of top European clubs courting the 24-year old and Premier League giants Manchester United have long been mentioned as a realistic destination for the star midfielder.
Now to further fuel speculation that Gundogan is set for a move to Old Trafford this summer, it has been reported by German newspaper Der Westen that United are on the verge of agreeing a deal with Borussia Dortmund for the midfielder.
Dortmund are demanding a fee in the region of around £20million for Gundogan and United are said to be ready to match the asking price.
Despite his injury troubles during the past few years, Gundogan is undoubtedly a very talented midfield general and his arrival could well prove to be a huge boost for the Red Devils as they bid to put up a sustained challenge for the Premier League title during the upcoming campaign.
