Manchester United’s misfiring loanee, Radamel Falcao, might be on his way to Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season according to Daily Mail.
The Spanish giants who are long time admirers of the Colombian striker are rumored to be monitoring his situation at Old Trafford.
Falcao whose loan deal expires at the end of the current campaign has had a torrid time in Manchester with just 4 goals in as many appearances, making it very unlikely that his loan will be made permanent by United. This gives Real Madrid an opportunity to swoop in and whisk the forward away to the Spanish Capital come next summer.
While this deal may have made sense a few years back, it does not have any merits now. For one, at 29 the forward is approaching the twilight of his career and, judging from recent evidence, does not seem to be getting any better with age.
Secondly, his injury problems are a major concern and it is a huge risk to take on the astronomical transfer fees and wages this move will command. Besides, there are bound to be a couple of available decent, back-up strikers that Madrid can purchase at much lower costs to themselves.
As such, unless something absolutely crazy occurs the chances of this deal happening are well below zero.
