With the imminent arrival of Daley Blind to Old Trafford, Manchester United have now brought their summer splurge up to a whopping £150million.
Despite their extravagant spending though, there are still a few problem positions that manager Louis van Gaal needs to rectify and it is widely believed that a new midfielder as well as a defender is set to arrive at the club before the transfer window slams shut tomorrow.
Hernandez all but certain to leave United
By the same token, United need to offload a few players as well in order to maintain a balance in their squad and a host of players are expected to leave Old Trafford within the next 24 hours. Among the players rumored to be leaving United, striker Javier Hernandez is all but certain to be shown the door by the club.
Hernandez has been deemed surplus to requirements by van Gaal and it was widely believed that the striker could be heading to Italian side Juventus as a makeweight in a deal to bring Arturo Vidal to Old Trafford.
Hernandez has emerged as a shock target for Real Madrid
However, it has now emerged that Spanish giants Real Madrid have also entered the race to secure the services of the Mexican superstar.
According to reports, it is believed that Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is preparing a contingency plan if his proposed move for Radamel Falcao does not come into fruition and has identified Hernandez as a possible target.
It is believed that Madrid are preparing a season long loan swoop for Hernandez with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the campaign.
With such a big club like Real Madrid interested, Hernandez will surely be open to a move to the Santiago Bernabeu while United will probably also not stand in the way to prevent the striker making the switch even if it is only a temporary move.
