If there was any doubt before, the humiliating 4-0 loss at the hands of League One side Milton Keynes Dons only served as evidence to the fact that Manchester United are currently plagued with deep rooted problems.

As a result, manager Louis van Gaal has a much tougher job on his hands than he would have first anticipated and despite the brilliant Dutchman being in charge at the club, the Red Devils look set to be in for another difficult campaign.

United have splashed the cash to bring in Angel Di Maria

That being said, United have a strong financial backing and although just throwing money at their problems will not solve everything – it certainly helps.

Therefore, United have splashed an extortionate amount of money this summer as evidenced by their latest acquisition – an eye popping £59.7million signing of Angel Di Maria and with a few days still to go before the transfer window slams shut, one can surely expect a few new faces to arrive at Manchester United.

Daley Blind finally set to sign for United

Now, it can be revealed that the Red Devils are on the verge of completing their fifth signing of the summer in the form of Dutch star Daley Blind from Ajax Amsterdam.

Blind had been incessantly linked with a move to United over the summer but with the transfer turning into a protracted saga, many felt that the defender making a switch to Old Trafford would not come into fruition.

However, United seem to have ramped up their efforts in securing the services of Blind and according to reports in England, it can now be revealed that the Premier League giants have finally been able to agree on a fee of around £14million to sign the 24-year old.

Blind would be a very good addition to the United ranks

Blind is now expected to travel to Manchester to agree on personal terms and the move is expected to be finalized within the next 24-48 hours.

Although, Blind is not the most high profile player to be arriving at United this summer, the Dutchman is quality as evidenced by his performances for Netherlands at the World Cup and his versatility will mean that the young man will give van Gaal a very useful option.
