Manchester United and Burnley square off at Turf Moor this Saturday at 12:45 BST, 4:45 AM Pacific. Both teams are in desperate need of their first win of the Premier League season, before losing more ground to the top tier of the league.

Louis Van Gaal is in search of his first win in a Premier League match. After such an embarrassing and disappointing loss to third-tier MK Dons, United look to rebound with a win. But with their current form, United look in disarray and their confidence has been drained after a near perfect pre-season. Injuries and poor play from the starters have contributed to United’s terrible start.

Club-record signing Angel di Maria could be in line to start after completing his transfer from Real Madrid earlier this week. His presence and play-making abilities will certainly give United a boost, as the 99 million dollar man was a key factor in Real Madrid’s run to become winners of the Champions League.

Burnley has not had much luck in their Premier League season campaign either. Life in the top flight of English football has not been easy, losing to Chelsea 3-1 in their opener and a 1-0 loss to Swansea City. In addition, on the same day United was trounced 4-0 by MK Dons, Burnley suffered a hard 1-0 loss to Sheffield Wednesday and were knocked out of the League Cup.

Prediction

Manchester United-Burnley 2-0
At some point, United has to feel the pressure and disappointment and take control over their season. The Red Devils have the talent and should be able to take the three points. However, their form and lackadaisical style of play through the first three games have lowered the level of confidence around Old Trafford. They should win, but it will be a hard-fought one.
