Luca Fernández (Zidane)
Like his brothers, Luca chose to stick with his mother’s maiden name to avoid comparisons and the pressure of being a Zidane. Born right before the 1998 World Cup, the 16-year-old’s dream was to be a goalkeeper. He’s the captain of the Cadete A (Under 16’s top squad) and is known for his great reflexes, his leadership and his positioning.
He still has a lot to learn and more than enough time to grow into a wonderful goalkeeper. Iker Casillas is his reference and he has already trained with the first team despite his young age. He still needs to go through all the stages of the youth system, but it’s very likely that he will be very useful for Madrid or any team once he matures. The Zidane legacy is here to stay and the future’s bright for Luca.
