These two players are a little more of wishful thinking than transfer rumors, but Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal are two players that fit the holding midfield role, as both have spent time at the position during their careers in Turin. Arsene Wenger would probably feint at the thought of paying as much money as either of these players would demand, but these two nonetheless would be terrific signings.
Both Pogba and Vidal are considered exceptional in both attacking and defending. Pogba, only 21 years of age, is a rare talent that still has his best years ahead of him. Vidal, 27, is at the peak of his career, and is considered one of the most complete midfielders in the game. The pair are also known to be very aggressive, but successful at crucial tackles. With Andrea Pirlo and crew ahead of them, it is crucial that they can win the important tackles in the midfield, and both Pogba and Vidal have proven they can do that.
If you are worried about the attacking ability of the two, don’t be. Pogba has shown over and over again that he is capable of some of the most spectacular goals seen on a soccer pitch, while Vidal has recently proven in Brazil that he is crucial to the attacking movement.
Like I mentioned earlier, neither the attacking or defensive ability of the pair would ever be a concern to Arsene Wenger, just the price. If the for mentioned price happened to be right though, either Pogba or Vidal would be the blockbuster signing of the summer, surely anchoring down the midfield, and propelling Arsenal into serious title contention.
