Calum Chambers
Arsenal’s latest signing comes in the form of a 19 year old defender. As part of the young, impressive core at Southampton, Chambers is a signing based off of potential. For the reported 16 million Arsenal spent, they are getting a versatile defender who can play as either a right back or centre half. This is partially due to his impressive physical build. At 6’0 tall, he has an impressive combination of pace and strength to play across the back line.
While he won’t be a starter immediately for Arsenal, he will get his chances throughout the season, as the primary backup to new man Debuchy and the center backs Koscielny and Mertesacker. As indicated in his 22 appearances last season, the English international can play a prominent role at a young age.
