FIVE Tough Choices for Barcelona: From Manager to Players

5. Forward

My biggest problem has been in this position. Not only did Barcelona sell their best forward last season– Alexis Sanchez– they also bought a controversial and expensive striker. Suarez is one of the best all round strikers in world football. He can poach and finish crosses. If needed, Suarez can drop to combine with the midfield; or he can play any side of the wings. Yet, I feel his on-the-field issues are not worth the price paid considering that Reus was an option. Despite Reus rejecting Manchester United for a chance to play for Barcelona, the administration thought it was better to spend the money on Suarez. Hey, at least they bought a striker.

Personally, I feel that Barcelona may have been able to make better choices for certain positions. The summer transfers are not all bad, but cheaper, equal alternatives were available. How do you feel Barcelona have fancied this summer?
