Three Players Real Madrid Should Sign Now

2. Mats Hummels

After just winning the World Cup and being a key part of Germany’s success, Borussia Dortmund are definitely getting a lot of calls to request information on signing Hummels. This tall defender is impeccable in the back and very threatening in attack. He’s a true leader and would be a starter in any big team in Europe. Pepe turned 31 not too long ago and sooner rather than later, he will stop being a regular starter.

While Madrid have Raphaël Varane to take that spot, it’s still unsure if the young French international will decide to stay with Los Blancos or pursue a regular starting spot anywhere else. With or without Varane, Hummels would be an outstanding signing for the European champions. It won’t be a cheap one, but with the security that he will bring, the return on investment will be huge. Real Madrid have always been very careful with the signings they do for their defense, since it’s a position that has a history of being problematic and irregular.
