4. Florian Thauvin
The Marseille attacking midfielder was loaned out to fellow Ligue 1 side Bastia, where he managed 9 goals and 4 assists in all competitions. At only 21, the youngster could be something special. He has drawn great praise, like this of the Toulouse manager: “a player in the image of Franck Ribéry … someone who is able to disrupt any opponent, someone very dangerous when he picks up speed. Very dangerous indeed.”
Bursting onto the scene for the champion France’s U20 squad, Thauvin may be primed for a move to an elite European club, no offense to Marseille. There is no such thing as too much young midfield talent, and adding this lad could work wonders in a few years for the Citizens. A deal that sends Thauvin either directly back to Bastia, Marseille or even another side on loan is quite realistic.
