3. Edinson Cavani
If this article was about almost any team other than Man City, these first three signings alone would seem nearly insane. But together, completely ludicrous. However, owner Mansour Song possesses the money to pull them off, though the FFP stipulations caps possible spending at £49 million, which would make adding more than one of the three impossible. Edinson Cavani was mentioned last summer as a possible target for the Blues, before the finalized deal sending him to PSG from Napoli. With 20 goals in his 33 appearances in all competitions, the Uruguayan clearly has an eye for the back of the net. And as you can see here, he’s clearly not an awful passer.
A finisher is a great compliment to creative Sergio Aguero, as Negredo proved in the first half of the season. A Cavani-Aguero pairing could wreak havoc on opposing defenses, with Silva and Yaya Toure orchestrating the attack. Should City be willing to sacrifice defense for goals, Cavani would fit well in Manchester.
