Benatia has been a common name thrown around in the press for transfer targets to head to the blue side of Manchester, since the opening of the transfer window. Often looked at as an alternative to Mangala, the Roma man is quite the defender himself. Paired with Leandro Castan, the two were like Tim Howard in the World Cup: a brick wall.
The Moroccan international is said to be keen on the switch, and all that seems left is a price that suits both sides. The original bid of £17 million pounds was countered with one of £50 million. Should the sides come to a middle-ground, the star central back could very well be playing his football in England for the coming years.
