4. Robin Van Persie
Recently hailed as the “Flying Dutchman” because of a spectacular goal scored against Spain, Van Persie is an all around player worth acquiring. He has had a good World Cup performance so far with the Netherlands. He was recently goal-less against Costa Rica, but that was not a problem as the Netherlands trot into semifinals. While all is well in his national team, it is a completely different story in his club Manchester United.
The 2013-2014 season was one of United’s worst seasons since the 1980s, as they finished 7th in the league and sacked their manager before the season was over. United endured many loses, one of them being against Olympiakos. This particular loss against Olympiakos prompted Van Persie to say that United was “lousy”. He went on to say that they were “in a lousy position in the league, out of the cups” etc. An unhappy player at a club only fuels rumors of a transfer. Hopefully that means a transfer to Barcelona. Van Persie’s skills range from him scoring goals to assisting other players whether it be from free or corner kicks.
