Five Players Barcelona Should Sign Now

3. James Rodriguez

Undoubtedly the starlet of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, James has left his mark in the history of Colombian soccer. At just the tender age of 22, Rodriguez has singlehandedly carried the Colombian National Soccer team to quarterfinals in the World Cup. Even though he and his team were knocked out by Brazil, James has won the hearts of millions watching. He has also won the eyes of those clubs wanting to sign him. He has been linked to various clubs including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

James has stated that he would prefer a move to Madrid over Barcelona, however, that does not discard Barcelona completely. He has vision, speed and can see opportunities that maybe most players don’t. He is a team player and can thrive in any club: big or small. It would be in Barcelona’s best interest to obtain the laid back midfield player who can double up as a winger. With Xavi Hernandez’ future at Barcelona being uncertain, Barcelona can only benefit from acquiring another playmaker, which is why they should sign James.
