On Sunday, Arsenal and Hull held a preparation duel ahead of the FA Cup final match. In their second league meeting, Gunners were once again victorious – final result was 3:0 with Ramsey and Podolski as key players.
After nearly four months of absence, Ramsey returned to the starting lineup of Arsenal. In the previous league match, he came in as substitute for the final 20 minutes of the match and added one more assist on his tally. Yesterday, he looked confident and secure, and all that resulted in a goal and two assists. He scored the opener after half an hour of play and in the final moments of the first half assisted Podolski for the second goal. In the second half, he set up the second goal for Podolski and all this earned him the Player of the Match award. After the game, he was very happy for all of this and this picture speaks for itself :
Another player whose form has been outstanding in the past couple of weeks is the German striker Podolski. The forward has patiently waited for his chance and now is collecting fruits of hard work. In the past five game-weeks, he scored five goals and assisted twice to his teammates. Comparing to the first 30 game-weeks, his tally was just three goals.
Yesterday he slotted the ball twice past Hull’s goalkeeper and that will guarantee him more game time in Arsenal’s race for the 4th spot on the table. Also, ahead of the World Cup in June, this kind of performance will certainly secure him a place among Germany’s starting XI for the biggest football event in this year. At the end of the game, he uploaded a picture with his teammates :
This is great news both for Arsenal players and club members. In the upcoming game-weeks, Gunners will need all of their players on the highest playing level. Race with Everton will be though, but an easier schedule and outstanding performances from attackers are key to securing the fourth place on the table.
