The Pachuca vs Chivas Guadalajara Liga MX match will be played this Saturday, April 5, 2014 (6:00 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Hidalgo. Pachuca will host Chivas where a win could place them in 3rd place, and on pace to finish the league in a top 4 position which is beneficial for home-field advantage in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Rebaño Sagrado will see the debut of their new coach Ricardo Antonio Lavolpe in what will be the beginning of a new era.

The team coached by Enrique Meza has been regular throughout the Clausura 2014, not showing signs of being one of the best in the league, but at the same time demonstrating that they have the capacity of reaching the playoffs. Pachuca has been solid on defense only receiving 11 goals after the first 13 games, while their offense has been nicely lead by the off season’s best foreign transfer, Enner Valencia.

Chivas of Guadalajara just went though their second straight week filled with anguish, humiliation, and controversy. Not only have they lost their past two matches against their top two rivals in Atlas and Club America, but Chivas had once against been in the midst of media attention. Two weekends ago they were involved in the stadium violence incident at the Estadio Jalisco, and this week was taken by the firing of now ex-coach Jose Luis Real following the disastrous 4-0 to the ‘aguilas’.

In Real’s place, Jorge Vergara and company brought in a highly respected coach, Ricardo Lavolpe. The Argentine is expected to lead Chivas into the playoffs this season, but most importantly, to lead the change in the team for the short-run future. The ‘rojiblancos’ are in a good position to reach the playoffs, as with 17 points they are only 1 point away from a playoff seed.

Pachuca vs Chivas Guadalajara Prediction
