According to The Daily Mirror, Manchester United will make a 40 million pound bid this summer for Toni Kroos of Bayern Munich. United have been in for him for quite some time now, but United are ready to splash the cash for the German international.
Kroos, currently plays for Bayern Munich, but has been in and out of Pep Guardiola’s side this season. Kroos has a contract until 2015 with the German powerhouses.
Kroos could leave for free in summer of 2015, so a 40 million pound bid for him may tempt Bayern to sell him. United need to go out this summer and invest in players and Moyes is keen on Toni Kroos.
Kroos could come to United and be a huge part of the club, but that is only if Bayern allow him to leave.
This rumor is coming from The Daily Mirror, so it is very reliable, thus I give it a score of 8 out 10.
If United are able to bring in Kroos, it would be a huge signing for the club. They need to rebuild the whole squad and the midfield has been lackluster this season. United need to bring in wide players, but Kroos is a central midfielder.
Kroos would no doubt help United in the final third, plus he can play deeper if need be. I give this potential transfer an 8 out of 10 as far as helping only because he isn’t a wide player and United already have Rooney, Mata, and Kagawa who can play in the “hole.”
I can see Kroos leaving Bayern Munich to get more pay and to get more consistent playing time. However, United will more than likely not be in the Champions League and that could be a huge blow to their chances of signing big players like Kroos.
Kroos is currently playing for the best club in the world and it would be a step down to go from Bayern to United at this point, so I give the chances of this happening only 20 percent. Money is the only way United will be able to secure a player of Kroos’ caliber.
