According to The Mirror, Southampton’s left back Luke Shaw, who was destined to go to Chelsea at the end of the season, could opt for Manchester United instead of “The Blues”!

The young, hot prospect is known to be a Chelsea fan since boyhood, so it was unimaginable for him to go anywhere else when this campaign finished.

However, the latest news from the English press says different. Manchester United choose to act first regarding the transfer of the young English international, and will offer Southampton an astonishing 27 million pounds for the left back.

Also, if Southampton accepts that, Shaw will be offered an amazing deal – a long term contract and 85 thousand pounds per week.

That kind of offer could be a dream come true for the 18-year-old, which could make him forget his love for Chelsea.

Of course, Luke Shaw is, despite his young age, one of the best left backs in England at the moment, and certainly the most promising one.

His technique and speed allows him to make a solid presence in his team’s attacks, but his tactical awareness and positioning certainly makes him a rock solid defender at the back, and he is really a “full package”.

Considering he is only 18, it is expected that he will make huge progress in the forthcoming years, and therefore it is not a surprise that all major English clubs want him.

He will be a perfect fit for United for sure. Evra hasn’t been that good this season, which is understandable considering his age, so Shaw would be a first choice in the left back position in the next season.

United is really in a need of quality and full package backs, because of their playing philosophy, which requires movable and attack-aware players on the flanks.

All major British websites wrote about this offer, and Manchester United will do their best to seal this deal. However, it is up to Shaw to decide, and considering his affections for Chelsea, if they make an approach too, despite the “heavy” offer, United probably won’t have advantage over Mourinho’s squad, so we give this transfer only 40% probability to happen.
