After a decent win in midweek that saw David Moyes take Manchester United into the last eight of the Champions League, it’s back to domestic affairs and West Ham.
The main issue surrounds Robin Van Persie, who scored a hat trick and was then stretched off with a knee injury. It’s not too serious apparently, however there’s no reason for him to be risked in a game like this. United have Danny Welbeck who has been performing consistently this season and Van Persie will most likely be given the weekend off to recuperate.
After Giggs’ display in mid-week where even at 40, he was still the best player on the pitch, he is unlikely to feature. Carrick will instead be partnered by Fellaini as Moyes still tries to see if anything can be seen in him to qualify the price tag.
United will expect to win this game and although 5th or 6th place is not likely to be beneficial for them next season with the Europa League consuming their season, they simply must build some kind of momentum until they face Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
