In their chase for a place that will secure them a qualification for Champions League next season, Manchester United offered an extension of contract to Wayne Rooney. This is definitely a sign to other clubs, like Chelsea and Real Madrid, that players will not leave Manchester in upcoming seasons.
The player himself posted a picture on his twitter account and it is obvious that he is very happy with the extension of his contract.

Although the striker didn’t have quite a productive season, it is obvious that he is the future of Manchester United, both on and off the pitch. Apart from the length of 4 years, when Rooney retires from active play, he will become an ambassador of the club. At the press conference, manager Moyes was full of praise for Wayne. He reminded everyone, that striker is only 42 goals from claiming the top spot in the club’s goalscoring history ahead of another legend of the club, Sir Bobby Charlton. Moyes was the man who gave Rooney a chance a decade ago, when they both were part of Everton. After that, the rest is history…
