Jose Mourinho‘s team defeated Swansea City during Boxing Day on a 1-0 score. Although it was not an impressive victory, it prolonged Chelsea’s undefeated streak to three games, and has them much alive in the hunt for the Premier League title. Meanwhile, Brendan Rodgers and his team had a disappointing loss to Manchester City last Thursday. That defeat cut their four game winning streak; luckily for the Reds, a win against Chelsea would position them at least in 3rd place, and possibly in 2nd if Arsenal loses to Newcastle.
