During the half-time between the Cardiff vs Sunderland match this Saturday, it was reported at striker Fabio Borini collapsed in the dressing room. The talented Italian forward had a good first half in which he produced various potent shots on goal.
At the writing of this article, it has not yet been confirmed as to why the player collapsed. What it is known, is that he felt ill during the half-time remission, which prompted the team medics to rush him on an ambulance to the hospital.
At the start of the second half, Borini was replaced by Darren Fletcher, as Sunderland was losing 1-0 to relegation rivals, Cardiff.
This is a breaking story therefore it is still evolving. We will update with new information.
UPDATE: Borini has regained consciousness, but will still be taken to the hospital to ensure everything is ok.
