The Jamaica vs Honduras CONCACAF World Cup qualifying match will be held this Tuesday, October 15, 2013 (6:30 PM Pacific) at the National Stadium in Kigston. This match will mark Jamaica’s farewell to their fans, in what turned out to be a hard qualification process where they were officially eliminated last Friday. Meanwhile, for Honduras, this match means the exact opposite, as they require at least a point to secure their place in Brazil 2014.

The final match-day in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers will be this Tuesday, with all three matches to be played at the same time (6:30 PM Pacific). Thus far, the United States and Costa Rica have qualified to the World Cup, while Jamaica is officially eliminated. Depending on the results this Tuesday, Panama, Honduras, and Mexico could all still finish in the 4th place intercontinental playoff position; the 3rd place will be taken either by Honduras or Mexico.

The Honduran national team travels to Kingston with the pure intention of playing a good enough match which will earn them at least 1 point. Currently in 3rd place of the Hexagonal, the team coached by Luis Fernando Suarez has 14 points with a +1 goal differential. Mexico could potentially force them into the 4th place wild-card seed were Honduras to lose and Mexico to win by any goal differential.

With the 1-0 win over Costa Rica last Friday, Honduras is on schedule to earn their second straight World Cup berth. They go into Kingston as favorites to win that match, as they have raised their form in recent games. Were they to lose against Jamaica, and Mexico to win, the ‘catrachos’ will play against New Zealand the 13 or 14 and 20th of November in a wild-card series.

The ‘Reggae Boys’ have been the weakest team in the Hexagonal, and as a result they have only scored 3 goals, and have won zero games. Jamaica confirmed their elimination from the qualifiers this past Friday when they lost to the USMNT 2-0 in Kansas City. With nothing left to play for, the team coached by Winfried Schafer will attempt to prevent Honduran celebrations in their stadium.

Jamaica vs Honduras Prediction

The Jamaica vs Honduras match will be a good game between the ‘Reggae Boys’ who want to end their qualifier on a high note and in front of their fans. On the other side is Honduras who will play with everything they posses in order to win their place in next year’s World Cup. Considering their place in the Hexagonal standings, Honduras is the strong favorite to dominate, and win this game.

The game in Kingston will be intense, but at the end Honduras will do enough to finish in the top 3 places of the standings, confirming their place in the World Cup. The Jamaica vs Honduras match will end in a 2-1 win for the visiting team.
