The Xolos Tijuana vs Victoria CONCACAF Champions League match will take place this Thursday, September 26, 2013 (7:00 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Caliente.  Xolos (MEX) and Victoria (HON) are part of Group 7 which also includes Luis Angel Firpo (SAL).  While Victoria has 2 matches left to play, they are already eliminated.  Meanwhile, Club Tijuana has 1 match left and is in first place with 7 points; they need at least a tie to win the group and qualify into the next round.

Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente are on the verge of qualifying into the next round of the CCL.  Thus far, only the Los Angeles Galaxy have qualified into the quarterfinals; therefore Xolos have a good opportunity to become the second team from the ‘Californias’ regions to make the next round.  The team coached by Jorge Almiron has not played wonderful in their first 3 games, however they have been the better team in terms of possession of the ball, and defense.

The Honduran squad, Victoria, has nothing left to play for in their final 2 games in the CCL. With 0 points, they are eliminated, meaning they may use their match against Xolos to keep their reserves in form, or simply as a good exam against a superior team.  The team coached by Hector Vargas will have a tough task because Xolos has not lost at home throughout the Liga MX, and the past CCL match against Luis Angel Firpo.
