Tigres vs Monterrey – August 10, 2013 Prediction and TV Schedule

Apertura 2013 Liga MX

The Tigres vs Monterrey ‘Clasico Regio’ will be this Saturday, August 10, 2013 (5:00 PM Pacific) at the Estadio Universitario.  The 100th version of this “classic’ will take place at the ‘Volcan’; Tigres UANL’s home.  This is the week’s most anticipated match between two of Mexico’s best teams in the past years.  This game will feature two teams who have had irregular starts to their season.  Tigres and Monterrey have just 3 points, and are in 13th and 14th place respectively.

Tigres has 3 points after three matches this Apertura 2013;  they have won one and lost two.  Considering the team’s talented squad, they have had a very poor start, therefore a win against their biggest rivals is a must win.  Unfortunately for Tuca Ferreti’s team, they have not defeated Monterrey since the Apertura 2007.  Tigres will look to put an end to Monterrey’s hegemony, with the intention of not only defeating a rival, but also in order to improve on their season.

Rayados of Monterrey have done a little worse than Tigres.  They have just 3 points, but after 4 matches (one more game than Tigres).   With three ties and a loss, the team coached by Victor Manuel Vucetich has not been able to be effective throughout the entire game.  On each game, they have been the better team, but they have not been efficient on offense, but more so, on defense.

Tigres vs Monterrey Prediction

The Tigres vs Monterrey ‘Clasico Regio’ is a must-watch game.  After the America-Chivas, this is probably Mexico’s 2nd biggest rivalry.  Both teams are deeply talented, and their fans are very invested in their clubs.  On Saturday night, both clubs will style defensive systems, therefore it will be a low scoring game.  Tigres will succeed, and Monterrey’s hegemony will end.  The Tigres vs Monterrey match will end in a 2-1 win for the home team.
