The Jamaica vs Panama match will be held at the Independence Park in Kingston on Friday, March 22, 2013 (9:30 PM EDT).  Panama and Jamaica are coming from ties against Costa Rica and Mexico, respectively.  On Friday they will have the chance to become real World Cup qualifying contenders if they were to win.

Jamaica had a tremendous game last time when they tied Mexico at the Azteca stadium.  This is a very versatile squad with good offensive wingers, speed, and a fair defense.  Jamaica has not been in a World Cup since France 98, but they have their best shot this time around.  This is a team that is well managed, but most importantly, they have good talent that plays in Europe and who has the right age to have a tough winning mentality.

Panama tied Costa Rica during the first match after they were up 2-0.  This is a team that has a good offense and a decent midfield, however, this is also a team that can become very weak during the 2nd half.  They have good players in their 30s, but they have a weak bench which puts in doubt their performance to finish the games.  Like Jamaica, Panama has 1 point and a win will put them exactly where they want after two games.  Friday’s match will be an intense game as these 2 teams are direct rivals in the qualifiers; both are not favorites, therefore it is just a question of which of these two gets the furthest.

Jamaica vs Panama Prediction

Panama has been a good surprise throughout the qualifiers.  Against Costa Rica they let a 2-0 advantage go away, and those are the types of scenarios a team cannot afford to come-by if they want to be in next year’s World Cup.  Jamaica on the other hand played a wonderful match against Mexico in the Estadio Azteca, and if they keep their form up, they will undoubtedly be one of three qualified from CONCACAF.  The Jamaica vs Panama match will end in a 2-1 win for the home team.
