It looked as though America would be coming out of the Estadio Morelos with a win: the game was tied 1-1, Vilar was red carded, and a penalty kick was awarded. However, America missed the penalty kick, and Morelia held off America for 60+ minutes with just 10 men. This is a draw that must feel like a loss for America, they had victory within their sights, and let it go.
