This decisive Week 16 encounter eliminated Pumas from playoff contention and puts Jaguares in playoff territory (at least temporarily). All of the Pumas reinforcements that Carrillo had sideline featured in this match, but Jaguares was still able to steamroll Pumas.
Jaguares has now won six straight at home, too bad they have been awful in away games, otherwise they’d be near the top of the standings. Jaguares must defeat Pachuca next week and hope for favorable results in other matches. Pumas is done.
