Celtic have completed the signing of South African youngster Rivaldo Coetzee from Ajax Cape Town.
Coetzee is a highly rated youngster and made his debut for the South African national team in 2014 at the age of just 17.
Ajax Cape Town posted on their Twitter page, “We are extremely proud to announce an agreement with @celticfc , for the sale of defender Rivaldo Coetzee, HAS BEEN CONCLUDED.”
The Hoops have reportedly paid a fee of £800,000 for the defender.
Coetzee had dreamed of a move to Europe since bursting onto the scene at Cape Town. He is said to had become frustrated at his local club over the past year after feeling that the time is right to play for a team in Europe and he has finally got the chance.
In Coetzee, Brendan Rodgers has himself an exciting young talent who will be hungry for success. It will be interesting to keep tabs on the player’s progress throughout the season.
