Everton man delighted at arrival of superstar to Goodison Park

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has revealed his delight at all-time England and Manchester United goal scorer Wayne Rooney rejoining the Toffees.

Rooney left Everton as a teenager in 2004 to link up with United and since then as gone on to become regarded as one of the best English talents of the modern generation.

He becomes the Merseyside clubs fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Jordan Pickford, Davy Klaasen, Sandro Ramirez and Michael Keane.

The 27-year-old Gueye has now expressed his delight at the 31-year-old Rooney becoming his team-mate and went on to also reveal that he is looking forward to playing next season.

He wrote on Twitter,


The Toffees will now be looking to clinch a top four finish next season. Though Rooney did not feature much for United last season, he could rejuvenate his career under Ronald Koeman.
