Week 2 of Copa Corona MX play will bring us some clashes between Liga MX sides including Chiapas hosting Necaxa at the Estadio Victor Manuel Reyna this Wednesday, January 25, 2017(5:00 PM Pacific). Chiapas are coming off a surprising 1-0 loss to Potros UAEM in week one of the Copa MX, while Necaxa will be playing their first game of the tournament. The game is a must win for Chiapas as it will become very difficult to move on to the knockout stages of the tournament if they do lose.
Sergio Bueno will most likely not use many starters for this match as their fight to remain in the Liga MX has to be much more important than this tournament. Even so Chiapas do still carry many interesting payers among their reserves such as William Paredes, Jesus Escoboza, Franco Arizala, Enrique ‘Paleta’ Esqueda and Christian ‘Hobbit’ Bermudez.

Necaxa will also come with a confidence boost having gained their first three points of the season in their 1-0 victory over Pachuca on Saturday. The ‘rayos’ are also unlikely to use many starters as they are considered to have a chance to contend this season. Alfonso Sosa does count with some experienced players within his reserves like Yosgart Gutierrez and Severo Meza, but also carries youngsters like 20-year-old, Mexican winger, Alejandro Diaz and 23-year-old, Chilean midfielder, Nicolas Maturana. The game should be a close encounter with few chances as the managers are known to not push forward. Chiapas will have the home support with their complicated situation and with their stunning victory over the weekend.
