Manchester United star David De Gea has expressed his gratitude towards the fans amid reports of his potential exit from Old Trafford

David De Gea has once again proven to be Manchester United’s star player over the course of the 2015/16 season and the Spaniard recently became the first player in history to win the club’s Player of the Year for a third consecutive term.

Despite De Gea’s wonderful performances though, Manchester United were not able to secure a spot in the Champions League for next season and rumors regarding the goalkeeper’s exit from Old Trafford have already started to resurface.

Recently, it was reported by the Guardian that De Gea will look to force a move away from United if Louis van Gaal continues as manager of the Red Devils and Spanish giants Real Madrid are said to be ready to reignite their interest in the Spanish custodian once again this summer.

There is evidently a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of De Gea at the moment but nonetheless, the 25-year-old shares a strong rapport with the United fans and he is adored by many at the club.

De Gea is well aware of this fact and to show his appreciation, he has gone on to deliver a heartfelt message through social media site Twitter to thank the fans for their ‘unconditional’ support.

De Gea will be participating for Spain in the upcoming European Championship in France and his future could only be decided after the tournament concludes in mid July.
