Breaking news from England has suggested that Liverpool have made a shock move for Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira. Reports from almost all of the country’s leading dailies have suggested that a Reds delegation has flown to Florida to thrash out a deal for the Brazilian superstar.
Teixeira is currently in Florida along with the entire Shakhtar Donetsk team as part of a training camp while the Ukrainian league takes a winter break. Ian Ayre and a number of Liverpool officials are believed to have flown across the Pacific in an effort to seal the deal for Shakhtar’s biggest talent.
Teixeira has long been linked with a move to Chelsea but Liverpool have leap-frogged their English rivals by jumping to the head of the queue for the 30m rated Brazilian. The Reds are believed to have offered almost 25m pounds for the player and numerous sources on Twitter are already suggesting that this bid may actually have been accepted by the Ukrainian club.
The 25m pound transfer fee is expected to rise to almost 29m pounds, depending on the completion of certain achievements by the player.
With 26 goals in 26 appearances this season, Teixeira has been on fire and Liverpool might as well pay the additional 4m pounds right now. Jurgen Klopp’s men have found goals really hard to come by and they would do well to have a talent such as Teixeira in their ranks for the remainder of the season.
