Manchester United clearly need to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window in order to stand a chance of finishing in the top four this season and a host of players have been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.
Sanches heading to United
While facilitating a couple of big transfers before the end of the month will be a priority for United, the Premier League giants are planning for the future as well and have reportedly completed a major deal which will take place in the summer.
According to reports from Diario Noticias, it has been revealed that United have already secured the services of Benfica youngster Renato Sanches.
Sanches has emerged as one of the hottest properties in Portuguese football after breaking into the Benfica first team this season and his impressive performances has led to interest from a number of top clubs around Europe.
In a bid to stave off the interest, Benfica had agreed to increase Sanches’ release clause to £61.4million as part of a recent contract extension.
However, that has not stopped United from pursuing Sanches and it has been claimed that the Red Devils have agreed on a deal to secure the services of the 18-year old during the upcoming summer.
