Manchester United to make a move for £15million star in January

Manchester United will be reigniting their interest in Southampton star Sadio Mane during the January transfer window, according to the Daily Star

Manchester United have made a decent start to the campaign but their recent 3-0 loss at the hands of Arsenal served to expose the Red Devils’ glaring weaknesses.

While too much cannot be looked into from a single game, it is clear to see that United will need to strengthen their ranks in order to mount a sustained challenge for the Premier League title this season.

As a result, a couple of names have already started being linked with a move to United in recent times and now according to reports from the Daily Star, the Red Devils are considering a swoop for Southampton star Sadio Mane.

United were said to have made an approach for Mane over the summer but their pursuit evidently did not come into fruition.

Mane has since managed to reaffirm his reputation as one of the finest attacking players in the Premier League with stunning performances during the early stages of the season for Southampton.

United boss Louis van Gaal is said to have been monitoring Mane closely and it can now be revealed by the Daily Star that the Dutchman will look to make a £15million swoop for the former Red Bull Salzburg star upon the reopening of the January transfer window.

  1. Yes, Southampton will rush to sell Mane for 15 million, considering they paid 12 million for him and he has 3 years left on his contract. They’ll bite United’s hand off at the opportunity to make a 3 million profit on one of the most promising young players in the Premiership. Idiotic article.

      • He can push all he wants. Lallana pushed for a move to Liverpool but was only sold when they agreed to pay 25 million, Schneiderlin was told he couldn’t leave last season, was eventually sold a year later when United paid 25 million. This summer Wanyama wanted a move to Spurs, but was told he was gong nowhere. Sterling pushed for a move to Man City but didn’t go until they agreed to pay stupid money. Utd have spent 31m and 60m on Depay and Martial. There is absolutely no chance Southampton will sell Mane for 15 million, however much the player ‘pushes’ and bare in mind he didn’t push during the summer when Utd were interested. He’ll be sold one day, but it will be for closer to 30 million than 15.

  2. Alvin is right, 15mil for a premier league proven player that will guarantee either goals or assists is not a bad buy. Plus he’s one of Southampton’s best players so it would weaken an opposition.
