The Norwich City vs Manchester United match will take place this Saturday, December 28, 2013 (7:00 AM Pacific) at Carrow Road.  Norwich City host Manchester United at on the back of a disappointing display last time around against struggling Fulham.

Concern

Chris Hughton voiced concern at a result that he did not think was deserved after Fulham came back to snatch a 2-1 victory after being a goal down. Scott Parker’s 86th minute winner has piled the pressure on Norwich, who now find themselves just 3 points above the relegation zone and facing a resurgent Manchester United next.

Character

David Moyes hailed the character shown by his side after having to come back from an embarrassingly lethargic first 15 minutes, which saw them 2-0 down against Hull City before most people had taken their seats. Again it was Wayne Rooney who inspired the comeback that resulted in a 3-2 turnaround and keeps United in the hunt for the title, although only just.

Norwich City Team News

Wesley Hoolahan will be pushing for a starting place and Gary Cooper, who became the first player to score for Norwich in 4 successive home games in the Premier League, will lead the line on his own. Hughton will look to try to pack the midfield and hope that the efforts expended by United in the Hull game will have taken their toll.

Probable Starting XI: Ruddy, Whittaker, Olsson, Fer, Turner,

Bassong Nguena, Snodgrass, Hoolahan, Hooper, Elmander, Redmond.

Manchester United Team News

More injury woe struck United before the Hull game with the news that Phil Jones faces at least a couple of weeks on the sidelines with a thigh problem. United welcomed Michael Carrick back into the fold which will be a fantastic sight for anyone involved with the club. Darren Fletcher lasted an hour at Hull, so technically there is more good news than bad in terms of injuries this week. The list now reads: Jones, Van Persie, Nani, Fellaini and Rafael who limped off after 20 minutes with a groin strain against Hull.

Probable Starting XI: De Gea, Evans, Smalling, Vidic, Evra, Januzaj, Carrick, Cleverley, Young, Rooney, Welbeck.

Norwich City Vs Manchester United Prediction

United will be buoyed by their thrilling comeback and the impact Wayne Rooney has had this season has been sensational. United must be careful not to depend too heavily on his influence. Norwich must find a way to keep Rooney quiet; it will be no easy task but it’s the key to having an opportunity at victory. Norwich will need to get at United and will attempt to overrun the midfield in order to stop Carrick dictating play. This game promises goals as both defenses are slightly fragile right now. But it is United that should take the points and keep their run going ahead of a home game against Tottenham on New Years Day.  The Norwich City vs Manchester United score will end 1-3 in favor of the Red Devils.
