Wolves Striker Pictured in Knee Brace at Training Base as Recovery Continues

Raul Jimenez has posted a photograph of himself at the Wolves training base with his left leg in a rigid knee brace, three weeks after surgery on the knee.

The photo, shared on his Instagram account on Friday, shows Jimenez in a green training kit in front of the club’s “ONE PACK” ethos wall at the Sir Jack Hayward Training Ground.

Crutches and a resistance band lie on the floor beside him. His caption is two words: “One pack.”

What the Photo Does Not Say

The post contains no timetable information. Nothing in the photograph or the caption says anything about when Jimenez will play again.

That matters because of how his previous post was covered. Football League World framed a gym video Jimenez shared on Thursday as a “major” update, reporting his caption as “Making really good process” and suggesting the “Old Gold faithful” could be optimistic of “an even earlier return to the pitch” than January.

No club, manager or medical source has confirmed any earlier return. Team news roundups for Saturday’s match at Wrexham still list Jimenez as out, as they have since September.

When Wolves announced the surgery in October, performance director Phil Hayward set out around three months of rehabilitation before Jimenez would be ready to play, which points to January. The club has published no new timeline since.

A photograph of a player doing rehabilitation work at his club’s training base shows that rehabilitation is continuing. It is not evidence about a return date, in either direction.

Three Weeks After Surgery

Jimenez injured the medial collateral ligament in his left knee against Everton in the EFL Cup on September 16, and the injury did not heal as Wolves had hoped.

He had surgery in London on October 16. His recovery diary since then has run from a hospital bed photograph on surgery day to gym and pool work at the training ground.

He had started the season sharply. Back at Wolves on a free transfer from Fulham in the summer, he scored three goals in his first six Championship appearances before the injury.

What It Means for Mexico

Nothing changes. Jimenez is out of Mexico’s Nations League quarterfinals against Jamaica, in Kingston on November 14 and in Monterrey on November 17, and that was settled by the January expectation weeks ago.

A holding timeline holds that position. Mexico’s interest in his recovery begins in earnest when the timeline itself moves.

What Happens Next

Wolves travel to Wrexham on Saturday without him, second in the table and unbeaten in five league matches.

The next real information in this story will come with words attached: a club update, a manager’s answer, or a revised timeline. Until then, January stands.
