Five Chivas de Guadalajara players are in Mexico’s reported squad for the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal against Jamaica, TUDN reporter Gibran Araige reported on Thursday. The FMF’s official list is still to come.
The five are Raul Rangel, Diego Campillo, Luis Romo, Santiago Sandoval and Roberto Alvarado, all named in Araige’s reported 28-man squad for Rafael Marquez.
Sandoval With the Seniors for Chivas de Guadalajara
Sandoval’s place is the biggest news of the five. The young forward scored twice in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Atlante, and a senior place settles the question of whether he would travel with the Sub-20 instead.
Hugo Camberos will go with the Sub-20 on their tour of Chile, from an official list the FMF has already published.
A Fitness Signal for Chivas de Guadalajara
Romo and Campillo both make the list weeks after returning from injury, a sign of how quickly each has rebuilt his place.
Romo’s call carries a note of caution for the club. He came back from the September international window hurt and only returned to action against Atlante on Saturday.
Who Misses Out for Chivas de Guadalajara
Brian Gutierrez, Bryan Gonzalez, Richard Ledezma, Efrain Alvarez and Omar Govea are not in Araige’s list.
TUDN’s list also tags Jesus Orozco Chiquete as a Chivas player. The defender has played for Cruz Azul since January 2025, so he is not counted among the five.
What It Means for Chivas de Guadalajara
The five are due to leave after Sunday’s match at Leon. Mexico play in Kingston on November 14 and in Monterrey on November 17, with the squad concentrating in the Riviera Maya.
All five should be back before Chivas de Guadalajara close the regular season against Cruz Azul on November 22, with the Liguilla to follow.
The FMF is expected to publish the official list later on Thursday, and this piece will be updated when it lands. Follow every story on the Chivas de Guadalajara hub.
