Where to Watch Argentina vs Ghana
Fox Soccer Plus has the match in English. Fubo’s own tournament page lists Argentina vs Ghana on Fox Soccer Plus.
FOX Sports holds the tournament’s U.S. English rights. Its own schedule pages list this fixture without naming a channel, so the Fox Soccer Plus assignment rests on Fubo’s listing.
Fubo streams the Fox Soccer Plus broadcast live. Subscribers can watch in English on televisions, phones, tablets and computers.
In Spanish, Telemundo’s own listings name the Telemundo app for this match. Coverage starts at 1:45 PM ET on Wednesday, 15 minutes before kickoff.
The Telemundo listing names the app only. It does not list the Telemundo network, Universo, Peacock or Telemundo Deportes Ahora for this match.
There is also no Telemundo Deportes YouTube stream for this match. No listing appears on the network’s official channel, so the app is the Spanish option.
Match Preview
Argentina are playing their first U-17 Women’s World Cup. Two wins have already sent the debutants into the knockout rounds.
Argentina finished second in Group A with six points. Germany won the group with nine.
Ghana finished second in Group C with four points. Brazil won that group with seven, and Ghana took the second automatic place ahead of Canada and Norway.
Ghana bring far more history at this tournament. The Black Maidens finished third in 2012 and are in the Round of 16 for the first time since 2018.
That sets up a clear contrast. Debutants whose striker has scored in all three matches meet a program that expects knockout football.
Recent Form
Argentina opened on Saturday, October 17 with a 2-1 defeat to Germany. Mercedes Diz put Argentina ahead at nine minutes, before Johanna Hebben and Mia Kuhn turned the match around.
Argentina answered on Tuesday, October 20 with a 2-0 win over New Zealand. Diz scored both goals, at 42 and 69 minutes, for Argentina’s first win at this tournament.
Argentina closed the group on Friday, October 23 by beating the hosts Morocco 5-1. Diz completed a hat trick, and Josefina Galarza and Julieta Aguilar added the other goals.
Ghana opened with a 3-0 defeat to Norway on Sunday, October 18.
Ghana responded on Wednesday, October 21 with a 3-3 draw against Brazil. Rafia Osman and Gloria Ameaa scored, and substitute Priscilla Mensah leveled at 85 minutes.
Ghana then beat Canada 2-0 on Saturday, October 24 to take second place. Substitute Linda Achiaa scored at 64 minutes, and Christiana Ashiaku sealed it in stoppage time.
Team News
Argentina are coached by Christian Meloni. They reached Morocco as runners-up at the South American U-17 Championship, where they lost the final 3-2 to Brazil.
Diz has scored six of Argentina’s eight goals at this tournament. Galarza and Aguilar, with one each, are the only other Argentina scorers so far.
Ghana are coached by Joe Nana Adarkwa. His changes decided the Canada match, with both goals coming from substitutes he sent on in the second half.
Ghana’s five goals are shared between five players. Osman, Ameaa, Mensah, Achiaa and Ashiaku have one each, so Argentina cannot focus on a single scorer.
Goalkeeper Belinda Maku Aklie kept Ghana’s first clean sheet of the tournament against Canada. Midfielder Seidatu Wahab was named player of the match that day.
Key Storylines
Diz carries Argentina’s debut run. Six goals in three matches make Diz the second highest scorer at this tournament. Ghana’s defense, which conceded six group goals, has to contain her.
Ghana’s bench keeps scoring. Ghana’s last three goals at this tournament have all come from substitutes: Mensah against Brazil, then Achiaa and Ashiaku against Canada. Adarkwa’s changes are a real weapon.
Ghana know how to fight back. The Black Maidens trailed Brazil twice and still drew, then won the match they had to win against Canada. Argentina cannot relax with a lead.
